Set up over 30 years ago, the original name of this family business is Bak Seng Spray Painting. It specializes in spray painting and panel beating of accident vehicles.

In 1989, the company has been renamed Teong Chai Spray Painting Sdn Bhd after a restructuring exercise, which was taken to meet new challenges in the industry. At that time, the business was passed on to the founder’s son Ch’ng Hong Choon.

Subsequently, a comprehensive exercise was immediately undertaken to modernize spray painting techniques, expansion of spray painting booth (with oven) and to improve other facilities in the workshop. In 1992, the original factory was relocated to Mak Mandin Industrial Park in Jalan Permatang Pauh in order to make way for the Butterworth-Kulim Highway.

In 1997, the company applied to become the Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia’s (PIAM) authorized workshop in order to satisfy market’s demand and new developments. The company was consequently appointed as approved repairer, under the PIAM’s Approved Repairer’s Scheme (PARS), and as a PIAM Authorised Workshop.

The workshop is strategically located in the Butterworth town center and about three minutes from the busy North South Highway.
