Insurer offers range of services during road accident

GUESTS enjoyed a variety of fun activities at the Allianz Road Rangers event at Allianz General Insurance’s Penang branch in China Street, George Town.

Members of the public joined in the activities which included a virtual reality rollercoaster ride, quizzes and free body mass index checkups.

The highlight of the recent event was the official launchingof the Allianz Road Rangers in Penang, a motor accidentassistance service for all of its comprehensive (private cars)policyholders.

The people got to view the full range of Allianz Road Rangers tow trucks and motorcycles used for the free service. “In an event where our customers are in need of assistance, they only need to call us and the road rangers will be there to help,” he said.

The seven touch points introduced by the Allianz Road Rangers starts with a call to their 24-hour call centre, where a bike brigade will first be despatched.

The bike ranger will then accompany the customer untilthe tow truck arrives where the car will be handled by the road rangers and the customer brought to lodge a report at the policestation. Then, the customer will be ferried back home and given a repair cost after an Eligible Own Damage (OD) claim is assessed and finally the repaired vehicle will bedelivered back to the customer.

Allianz Penang branch manager Collin Peter Pereira said this service was unique as it offered customers a comfortable service when in an accident.

“As of now, we have 205 tow trucks and 40 motorcycles nationwide since our launch in Klang Valley back in January 2017.

“We also cover most areas in Malaysia up to even Labuan in Sabah,” said Pereira. The Allianz Road Rangers started its service in Penang in January this year.
